Earth Day - A Day To Honour Our Precious Planet

Today we Celebrate,
We Celebrate Our Mother, Our Home
our Sacred Ground, Our Gaia

Today is Mother Earth Day, a global event celebrated annually on April 22nd. It is a day dedicated to raising awareness about environmental issues and promoting sustainable practices in our daily lives. The celebration of Mother Earth Day began in the late 1960s, when people started to recognize the negative impact of human activities on the planet.

We all have a responsibility towards our planet and must work together to protect it. We really should be in awe of it each and every moment. This day serves as a reminder that we need to take care of our natural resources and preserve them for future generations. It also emphasizes the fact that small actions can make a big difference when it comes to protecting the environment.

Celebrate Earth Day with LORE

There are various activities such as tree planting drives, clean-up campaigns, and eco-friendly events that will be taking place today and throughout this week that you can take part in to feel and enhance your connection.  You can head here to find out more.

For us as Lore we are also interested in recognising our own rhythm of life and how this allows us to really tune in deeper to the ancient ways so we can be of real service to ourselves, our communities and of course our great Mother.

Today we would love it if you would join us in choosing to stop, to pause, to celebrate... just what it means to BE HERE NOW, to live life here on our Earth. The voices of our ancestors are whispering to us always, nudging us closer to return to some simplicity and trust in the nature of our wise and wonderful Mother.

What would it feel like to be closer to mother nature for you?

In a world that can often feel fast and furious, we have to find the path that leads us to our peace, and our own connection with the divine.

One way you can begin to integrate a more peaceful and healthy way is to attune to the Circadian Rhythm.. When we set our own foundation for a healthy connection to the rhythm of life we can really begin to step into some magic.

What, indeed is the Circadian Rhythm?

The Circadian Rhythm is an integral part of all life on Earth, from human beings to animals and plants. It is a 24-hour internal clock that helps regulate our sleep-wake cycles and other bodily functions.  We rely on it to regulate our sleep cycle and manage various bodily functions, from hormone production to digestion. With the modern world's hectic pace, however, how can we optimise our circadian rhythm so that it works in harmony with us?

Establishing consistent sleep schedules and morning routines are one way to begin to do this. Going to bed and waking up at the same time everyday allows your body to learn when it's time for rest and when it's time for activity. Additionally, avoid bright screens at least 2 hours before bedtime as they interfere with your melatonin production - the hormone responsible for regulating sleep-wake cycles.

And then of course there is the all important time in nature, getting enough natural light exposure during the day. Now that we are entering the light there will be more opportunity for this especially for those of us who may normally have work commitments which prevent us from being outside as much. Achieving a healthy balance between your lifestyle and your body's natural rhythms can be a real game changer.

If you would like to understand more about this fascinating subject there is an excellent book by Dr Satchin Panda - The Circadian Code - “Loose weight , supercharge your energy and sleep well every night” There have been rave reviews and some real testimonials to the transformation from implementing some simple inexpensive life changes.

Introducing a form of routine need not feel boring or complicated, one of the best ways to begin with these change is to introduce a form of ritual. Here at Lore we love to share the art of creating special rituals, that are simple and easy. Rituals that you can create in your own home, share with your family or simply have your own personal moments to connect, to breathe and to align with nature.
